Rafael Núñez is inside the city, in the Crespo neighbourhood, a few kilometres from the walled centre. The short hop is the easy part — luggage, heat and hotel access inside the Centro Histórico are what actually need planning.

How the transfer will work

Three steps, decided before you fly

The whole point is removing the decision you'd otherwise make while tired, in a queue, in a language you may not speak.

Step 01

Book before departure

Pick your route and vehicle, give us your flight number and destination address, and pay a fixed price. No meter, no negotiating at the curb.

Step 02

We assign a licensed operator

Your trip goes to a habilitated Bolívar transport company, which assigns a driver and vehicle. You get the driver's name, the vehicle, and the plate before you land.

Step 03

Walk out, and they're there

Your driver tracks the flight, so a delay doesn't cost you the ride. Message us on WhatsApp in English or Spanish if anything looks wrong.

Getting into Cartagena today

A pre-booked private transfer isn't the right answer for everyone, and we'd rather say so than pretend otherwise.

Authorized taxi

Available on arrival

No booking needed, and usually the cheapest door-to-door option for one or two people traveling light. Use the airport's official authorized stands rather than accepting an offer inside the terminal.

Rideshare apps

Often the lowest price

Widely used by residents and typically cheaper than a private transfer. Trade-offs are pickup-point confusion, no flight tracking, cancellations at busy times, and a driver who may not speak English.

Bus & colectivo

Cheapest, slowest

Shared services run on fixed routes at a fraction of the cost. Fine with a backpack in daylight; difficult with three suitcases, small children, or a late arrival.

Private transfer

Certainty, at a premium

Costs more than a rideshare. What you're buying is a fixed price agreed in advance, a vehicle sized to your luggage, a driver who waits through delays, and support in your language. Worth it for groups, weddings, cruise arrivals and families heading straight to the islands.

Cartagena's airport maintains authorized taxi stations and publishes current rate information. Use those official sources for fares — we won't reprint numbers we haven't verified against them.

Are you the official Rafael Núñez website?

No. CartagenaAirport.co is an independent traveler resource with no connection to Rafael Núñez International Airport, its operator SACSA, or Aerocivil. For official flight information, terminal services, and published fares, go to the airport's own channels.

Do you own the vehicles or employ the drivers?

No, and we don't plan to. Colombian regulation channels this kind of transport through habilitated special-transport companies, and that's who we contract with. They supply licensed drivers, compliant vehicles, insurance, and operating authorization. We handle the booking, the price, and your support.

Can I book a transfer right now?

Not yet. We're finalizing operator agreements and the legal structure before taking a single peso. Join the launch list and you'll be told the day booking opens in Cartagena.

What will it cost?

We'll publish a fixed price per route and vehicle once operator rate sheets are signed. We're not posting estimated fares in the meantime, because a made-up number is worse than no number.

Will you be cheaper than a rideshare app?

Usually not, and we won't pretend otherwise. A private pre-booked transfer costs more. It's the right choice when certainty matters more than saving twenty dollars — groups, luggage, night arrivals, medical travel, or a first visit.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

Your flight number is on the booking specifically so that a normal delay doesn't cost you the ride. Exact waiting-time rules will be published in our terms and mirrored in our operator contracts before launch.

Do you operate at other Colombian airports?

This is one of four independent sites covering MDE, BOG, CTG, CLO. Cartagena launches first; the others follow once the model is proven here.
